The Easiest Way to Sell Your IBCs

If you have surplus, used, or unwanted IBC totes taking up valuable space, Seattle IBC makes it easy to turn them into cash. We purchase containers of all types, sizes, and conditions from businesses and individuals throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Our buying program is designed for maximum convenience. We come to you with our trucks and equipment, handle all the heavy lifting, and pay competitive prices based on fair market value. Whether you have a single container or hundreds to sell, we make the process simple and stress-free.

We buy containers that previously held food products, industrial chemicals, agricultural supplies, and more. Our professional cleaning and reconditioning services allow us to restore most containers for reuse, which is why we can offer better prices than scrap recyclers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about selling your IBC totes to Seattle IBC.

How do you determine the value of my containers?

We assess value based on several factors: overall condition, age, brand, size, previous contents, and current market demand. Grade A containers in excellent condition fetch the highest prices, while damaged units are valued at recycling rates. We are transparent about our pricing and happy to explain how we arrived at any quote.

Do I need to clean the containers before you pick them up?

No, cleaning is not required. We accept containers as-is and handle all cleaning in our facility. However, containers should be empty of liquid contents. If containers still have product inside, let us know and we can discuss options including arranging proper disposal.

What if I do not know what was previously in the containers?

That is okay - we can often determine previous contents through labels, residue analysis, or manufacturer codes. If contents cannot be determined, containers may be valued at a lower grade for safety reasons, or we may need to handle them as chemical waste. Just be honest about what you know.

How far will you travel for pickup?

We provide free pickup throughout the greater Seattle area and most of Western Washington. For Eastern Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, we can arrange pickup but may require minimum quantities (typically 10+ containers) or a small transportation fee for remote locations. Contact us for specific locations.

Is there a minimum number of containers you will buy?

No minimum! We purchase single containers all the way up to entire warehouse liquidations. Obviously, larger quantities are more cost-effective for pickup logistics, but we will work with you regardless of quantity. For very small quantities in distant locations, self-delivery to our facility might be more practical.

How long does the entire process take?

From initial contact to payment, the typical timeline is 3-7 business days. Quote turnaround is within 24 hours, pickup can usually be scheduled within 2-3 days, and payment is made at pickup or within 3 business days. For urgent situations, we can often expedite the process.

Can you provide documentation for my records?

Yes, we provide detailed purchase receipts for all transactions. For businesses needing documentation for asset disposal, environmental compliance, or tax purposes, we can provide additional documentation including certificates of recycling for end-of-life containers.
